Facebook Marketplace listings vs Meta Automotive Inventory Ads for dealers: cost, setup, control and reach compared, and why most stores run both.

## Two products, one buyer
The same shopper sees both: an organic listing a salesperson posted, and a paid ad built from the dealer's inventory feed. They cost different money, take different setup, and fail in different ways.
## Organic Marketplace listings
- Cost: free per listing. Your cost is the salesperson's time, or a posting tool from $39 to $249 a month. - Setup: a person and a Facebook account. Minutes. - Control: full. Price, photos, description, when it goes up, when it comes down. - Reach: local buyers browsing Marketplace, plus anyone the rep shares the listing with. - Risk: the rep's account. Volume, duplicates and price drift bring reviews.
## Automotive Inventory Ads
- Cost: ad spend, billed by delivery, on top of the feed partner if you use one. - Setup: a vehicle catalog in Meta's business tools, a feed that keeps it current, and campaigns to run from it. Days to weeks the first time. - Control: creative comes from the catalog; targeting and budget are yours. - Reach: Facebook Feed, Marketplace and other surfaces, labelled as ads, to the audiences you target. - Risk: budget. The moment it stops, the cars disappear.
## Which first
A single store with reps who will post: organic first, because it is free and it compounds through seller ratings and message history. A group with a feed partner and an ads budget: both, with the organic listings carrying the long tail of cars the ad budget never reaches.
## What TurboSell does and does not do
It handles the organic side: imports, descriptions, posting under the rep's own login, nightly batches, price and sold sync. It does not run Automotive Inventory Ads. If you run both, keep the Marketplace price equal to the ad price; buyers compare.
