Facebook Marketplace Vehicle Listing Rules Dealers Trip Over (2026)

Who can list
A person, from an individual Facebook account. Business Pages have not been able to list vehicles on Marketplace since January 30, 2023. That is why every posting tool works through a salesperson's own account.
The form's hard limits, as they behave today
- Mileage: a used vehicle will not accept fewer than 300 miles. Round up and explain in the description. - Photos: 20 per Marketplace vehicle listing. Page and profile posts take up to 80. More than that and the upload fails without much of a message. - Required: vehicle type, year, make, model, mileage, price, body style, exterior colour, condition, fuel type, transmission, description, location. Leave one blank and the listing does not publish. - Location: the listing lives where the poster is. A rep posting from home lists the car near their home.
What gets listings removed or accounts reviewed
Duplicate listings of the same car, template descriptions pasted across the lot, prices that do not match the dealer website, bursts of many listings in minutes, and logins from places the account has never been. The account-safety guide covers each of these and what to do if you are restricted.
Housekeeping Meta now does for you
A July 2026 notice to sellers, shared in seller forums rather than published as a policy page, said Meta would remove Marketplace listings older than two years from August 30, 2026. If a car has been live that long the problem is not the rule.
A note on the source of these numbers
They come from posting real dealer inventory through the Marketplace form in September 2026, not from a published policy, because Meta does not publish one at this level. If the form changes we update the page.
