Playbook
The Facebook Marketplace Playbook
A 5-step system for car dealers: keep listings fresh, build buyer trust, respond fast, and follow up until the appointment is booked.
Step 1
Posting Strategy
Visibility first. Account health always.
Keep Your Full Inventory Freshly Listed Every Week
- Keep all stock live and visible every week
- Listings older than 7 days often lose reach
- Do NOT renew listings
- Always DELETE and REPOST after 7-10 days
Why delete & repost?
- Resets the algorithm
- Pushes listings back to the top
- Gives each vehicle a fresh chance to be seen
Daily Posting Limits (Protect Your Account)
- Post NO MORE than 10 vehicles per day (if just starting, gradually work up to 10 per day)
- Never post 10 at once. Post in batches of 5 at a time
Checklist
Spread Listings Throughout the Day
Ideal posting schedule:
- Morning (8–10am) → Post 5 vehicles
- Afternoon / Evening (4–6pm) → Post 5 vehicles
Done Monday-Friday = 50 vehicles freshly posted per week.
If you have more stock, post Saturday & Sunday also = 70 posts per week.
Posting Into Facebook Groups (Mandatory)
Marketplace alone is not enough. Minimum setup:
- Join 80+ local buy/sell groups
- Post every vehicle into at least 20 groups.
Correct method:
- Morning: Post 5 vehicles to Marketplace, Share those same 5 into Groups 1–20
- Afternoon / Evening: Post another different 5 vehicles, Share into different Groups 21–40

Step 2
Profile & Trust Building
Turn Your Personal Profile Into a Semi-Business Profile
When someone sees your Marketplace listing, they will click your profile.
Your profile:
- Shows your seller profile
- Displays your seller reviews
- Strongly affects response rates
What to do:
- Aim for a good clear cover photo of you the person, smiling/welcoming/normal genuine person.
- Update your cover photo to something business-related
- Clearly state where you work or your business affiliation on your profile
- Build your seller reviews on your Marketplace Profile.
- On your personal profile timeline, share a mix of normal life & business-related posts: Vehicle handovers, Customer photos, Reviews and testimonials.

Step 3
How to Respond to Leads
Respond Fast — Video Wins
Speed matters.
- Respond as quickly as possible
- Use a copy-paste template or best a final send of your pre-saved video
- Video works best
Pre Saved Simple Generic Video
Record this video on an iPhone once. Don't mention the customer's name or vehicle make/model.
"Hey [Your Name] here at [Dealership], just wanted to put a face to the name, I've got a few customers booked in for appointments right now but let me know what it is you liked about the car or shoot me your number I can give you a call when it suits you best?"
Always Ask a Question
After sending the video wait 1 hour then ask:
- "Hey did you get a chance to watch my video?"
Wait 1 hour then:
- "What was it about the car that caught your eye? Was it the Apple CarPlay, mileage, price, or something else?"

Step 4

| 1 | Video + QuestionSend intro video. Wait 1 hour. Ask if they watched it. Wait 1 hour. Ask a specific question about the car. |
| 2 | Light Check-In"Hey, did you get a chance to see my video yesterday?" |
| 3 | Walkaround VideoSend a walkaround. Ask: "Do you need any more info or photos?" |
